Employment Based Immigration Quota Update Under the EB-3 Categoy
The September 2008 Visa Bulletin continues to show that EB-3 immigrant visa numbers are "U" (Unavailable). The U.S. State Department's Visa Office had previously announced that, beginning on October 1, 2008, cut-off dates would return to June 2008 levels (in June, the EB-3 cut-off date was January 1, 2003). However, in its September 2008 Visa Bulletin, the State Department changed course stating that "continued heavy demand in those categories may require the establishment of cut-off dates which are earlier than those which had applied in June."
