USCIS Releases Its H1B Quota Count Dated October 1, 2010
USCIS confirms that as of October 1, 2010 approximately 40,600 H1B cap-subject petitions were receipted. USCIS has receipted 14,900 H1B petitions for employees with advanced degrees.
Based upon this information, we may expect that the H-1B quota will remain open for two more months. However, in the past we have seen the quota fill rapidly and USCIS issue revised counts. For these reasons, it is important to file H1B petitions as soon as possible to ensure work authorization. Once the H1B quota fills, the next date H1B status will become available is October 1, 2011.
