Today USCIS Announced that the H-1B Quota is Full

USCIS has received enough H-1B petitions to meet the H-1B cap for fiscal year 2009, including more than 20,000 H-1B petitions under the Master's degree exemption.

Once USCIS completes data entry of all H-1B petitions received from April 1st to close of business on April 7th, it will chose which H-1B petitions it will process using a random selection process. Master's degree exemption petitions will be chosen first.

Some employers are exempt from the H-1B quota and may file H-1B petitions at any time.  Some people are not subject to the H-1B quota.  In addition, Some employees have a special H quota which may fill later this year, or not at all.
